In today’s episode Alex tells her story of being completely burned out after years of working in TV production and how that led to many twists and turns and the Universe seriously having her back!
After standing up a friend on a night out for the umpteenth time because of work commitments, her friend called her out and told her to quit. Not something she had even considered before, but this conversation gave her the balls to do it.
But then what? What were her passions?
After some travelling in Costa Rica she worked for a while in a hostel, and then after briefly toying with becoming a yoga teacher decided to pursue her travelling passion and worked on a yacht. This did not become a dream for her spending 14 hours doing laundry most days of the week with less time off than her TV career, so again she had to rethink and came back to the UK.
Keeping with the hostel theme she worked for a UK Hostel Association which proved to be a lot more hard work than her time abroad.
Eventually a persistant back problem continued to get worse to such a point she needed to be signed off and narrowly avoided an operation. Having time to reflect and listen to her doctors advice she went back to the idea of being a self employed yoga teacher, and 12 months later went to India to complete her training.
Feeling like she had come home after making that decision and the healthiest she had ever been, doors opened and life just flowed.
A teaching opportunity landed in her lap to teach yoga at a surf school in Morocco, which gave her the confidence she needed to buy a yoga business and move to Bristol. That and the Universe delivering the money she needed to buy the business.
The business grew to a point where she needed to employ other teachers and as much as she loved it, after a while felt she needed more traditional Indian training. Meditation one day revealed the name of the Ashram she was soon to visit and work at.
That time out there led Alex to realising she wanted to have the freedom to visit friends and family back home but also earn money from anywhere in the world so she could continue her travels. Enter SFM and Alex’s online marketing education. This was intially for an affiliate marketing business but has since taken her to supporting other marketers and now embarking on her coaching career.
Alex says – Just take the leap into the unknown, especially if it has landed in your lap, as the possibilities that could open up for you are life changing. You only need the 1st step and the rest of the journey will unfold over time.
